Summer is here and that means fun and sun with warm temperatures for the next few months.

The 716 is one of the best places in the country to be, and since the Buffalo is really New York's best city, what better way to spend your free time than in the sand at one of the many beaches we have in Western New York?

With several beaches to choose from, where is the best place to go to have a fun on the water? If you need help choosing, we have a few options for you.

Olcott Beach

Sitting on the south shore of Lake Ontario in Niagara County, right at the entrance to 18 mile creek, Olcott Beach on Main Street in Olcott is one of the best beaches in the area and also features a great nice carousel that you can enjoy while soaking in the sun.

Woodlawn Beach

Sitting just south of Buffalo on Lakeshore Road in Blasdell, Woodlawn Beach State Park has to be on any list because of its popularity and ease of access. Getting it it is easy considering its right off Route 5 and there are tons of options if you wanted to grab something to eat or drink on your way to or from the beach.

Beaver Island Beach

Perhaps one of the more popular places in Western New York, Beaver Island State Park is a great place to check out whether you are going to the beach or not. The beach on West Oakfield Road on Grand Island is also pretty easy to get to and has its own exit from the 190, just north of the South Grand Island Bridge.

Sunset Bay Beach

Routinely ranked as one of the best beaches in the 716, Sunset Bay Beach on South Shore Drive in Irving should really rank high on your beach to-do-list this summer. In addition to great food and drinks, many boaters will pull their boats right up and then it's really a party.

Bennett Beach

Just a little farther south from Buffalo than Woodlawn Beach, Bennett Beach is another beach that you need to make sure you spend some time at this summer. This beach often ranks as one of the best in Erie County New York and has much more of offer than just sand and water. Stop by the next time you're on Old Lakeshore Road in Angola.
