Bobby Shmurda’s Mother Says He’ll Be Released from Prison in 2020
Bobby Shmurda has been imprisoned since December 2014, and details about his release have been scare. But now, the Brooklyn rapper's mother has come forward to announce that he will be freed sooner than we thought.
Shmurda's mom, Leslie Pollard, has kept his core fans and supporters updated via Instagram in regards to his prison stint. Yesterday (Oct. 2), she seemed to be having a hard time coping and wrote, "The time is ticking 25 months he will be here soon....." If you do the math, that equates to November 2020. Shmurda's next parole hearing is scheduled for August 2020.
It's been quite a ride for the GS9 frontman, who was gaining momentum off the success of "Hot Nigga" and his follow-up, "Bobby Bitch," before he was arrested. The 24-year-old is serving a seven-year concurrent sentence for murder conspiracy and attempted promoting prison contraband.
Pollard also plans on visiting the "Time Ticking" spitter tomorrow (Oct. 4), according to the post, so maybe we'll receive more word from him soon. Shmurda, who she says is "in good spirits" in spite of it all, is currently housed at the Clinton Correctional Facility in upstate New York.
In a prison interview with ThisIs50 in July, Bobby praised YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Atlanta newcomers Gunna and Lil Baby, whose joint mixtape, Drip Harder, drops this Friday (Oct. 5).
"I'm fucking with everybody coming out right now. I love the energy and seeing niggas get the fuck up out the hood and doing something," he told the outlet. Maybe he'll get a chance to collaborate with them, as well as Meek Mill, once he's released.
