Earlier this month, police in Memphis, Tenn. announced they were on the hunt for former XXL Freshman BlocBoy JB, in connection with multiple warrants. On Thursday (Feb. 28), the rapper was taken into custody after appearing in court, according to FOX News.

JB, born James Baker, appeared in court alongside his lawyer to turn himself in. Following a search, he was immediately taken into custody, and his bond has been set at $50,000. According to his legal team, the reason he didn't turn himself in as soon as the police issued the warrants earlier this month was because he was busy on the road.

As it stands now, JB is facing charges for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, a convicted felon in possession of a handgun and theft of property, according to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office (SCSO.) SCSO also announced the arrest on their official Twitter page shortly after he was taken into custody.

"Update: James Baker surrendered to authorities this morning," they wrote. "Thanks to all who helped us by sharing this post!"

Earlier this year, the Memphis rapper filed a lawsuit against Fortnite creators Epic Games, accusing them of ripping off his "Shoot" dance for their in-game "Hype" dance without credit, compensation or approval. There is no word on how much he is seeking in damages.

XXL has reached out to BlocBoy JB's team for comment on his arrest but have not received a response as of press time.
