Buffalo Bills 5 Worst Draft Picks Ever
With the 2022 NFL Draft just about a month away, there are all kinds of talk and speculation about what the Bills are going to do this year.
There are all sorts of primers and potential scenarios that have Buffalo picking well in the draft or not so much so... Needless to say I am excited for the prospects of our hometown team this year.
I truly wish the best for the Bills this year in the draft, because we've had some great success in past years. We all know about the top draft picks we've made over the year. However, let's not forget about those players who we picked that, at first, we didn't think that much about, but ended up being pretty good choices. We've also picked good players who went on to have better careers for other teams.
With all of that good, we cannot forget about the bad. There were some draft picks that just turned out badly for Buffalo. What seemed like a great choice ended up being a big bust.
I really don't like to focus on the bad, but here are the Five Worst Draft Picks ever made by the Buffalo Bills, in no particular order:
Mike Williams
Coming to Buffalo with the 4th pick in the 2002 NFL Draft, we all thought we had the potential to rebuild a Bills Offensive Line that needed help. We were wrong.
JP Losman
Drafted in the First Round of the 2004 NFL Draft, what makes this a truly bad pick for the Bills is ultimately based on the other quarterbacks that Buffalo had the potential to draft. Quarterbacks with such names as Eli Manning, Philip Rivers, and/or Ben Roethlisberger.
Aaron Maybin
Yeah...I got nothing here...
James Hardy
Going in the 2nd Round of the 2008 NFL Draft and only spending two years with the Buffalo Bills, Hardy caught a total of 10 passes in his career for 96 yards.
Torrell Troup
Selected in the 2nd Round of the 2010 NFL Draft, Troup only was able to achieve a total of 31 tackles in his short career, which isn't good, but what makes this one of the worst picks for Buffalo is that they passed on future Hall of Famer Rob Gronkowski to pick him.
Dishonormable Mention - Nate Peterman
Throwing 5 interceptions in a single half definitely earned this 5th Round Draft Pick from the 2017 NFL Draft a spot on this list.
Dishonorable Mention - EJ Manuel
While I personally like EJ Manuel, the Buffalo Bills were not doing a very good job at running things during the early 2010s which means they wasted a first-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft on EJ Manuel.
Did I miss anyone? Who should be added to this list?
