What Brought This Famous Movie Star To Buffalo?
For many years, Western New York was a big secret to those around the world, and no matter how much we want to keep Buffalo a secret, that secret is out. The 716 is a place of international intrigue, and the hype only seems to be growing.
From our architecture, food, sports, and more, Buffalo is on the move, and every day you have a greater chance of just seeing famous people walking the streets of Western New York.
It seems that the exact thing happened as an award-winning actor and comedian was in Buffalo this past weekend to celebrate his latest contribution to the film industry, and it has Buffalo written all over it.
Alec Baldwin In Town For the Buffalo International Film Festival
Born Alexander Rae Baldwin III in Amityville, NY, Alec Baldwin is a member of the famous family of movie and TV stars, and has starred in numerous movies, TV Shows, video games, stage plays, and more, on his way to winning more than 20 industry awards. Those awards include three Emmys, three Golden Globes, and several other awards.
Given how many credits Baldwin has in his more than 40-year career, it was kind of strange to see him walking down Hertel Avenue the other day, but that's exactly what was happening as Baldwin, along with several hundred others, was at the North Park Theatre for the Buffalo International Film Festival.
The BIFF, in its 19th year in Buffalo, seeks to highlight independent regional, national, and international films and support local filmmakers in their push to create quality films of all styles.
The Festival, which runs from Thursday, October 9, 2025, to Thursday, October 16, 2025, held its opening night gala on Friday, October 10th, and featured BARISTAS VS. BILLIONAIRES. The documentary, which was co-produced by Baldwin, tells the story of how baristas who worked for Starbucks in Buffalo fought to organize and form a union.
During the opening night gala, Baldwin was joined by several members of the documentary team who attended the screening of the documentary and held a post-screening Q&A at the North Park Theatre.
