A New Discount Grocery Store Is Opening In WNY Today

A major discount grocery store chain is opening its first store in Orchard Park today. This is one of my favorite stores. Even though they are a discount grocer, they offer high-quality and unique products.

What Is ALDI?

For many years, I had heard of ALDI in the background of grocery store talk, but I never shopped there. One day I went out on a limb and decided to see what it was all about.

Aldi is the common company brand name of two German multinational family-owned discount supermarket chains operating over 10,000 stores in 20 countries.

ALDI carries regular food staples, but they also have exclusives, and vegan, organic, gluten-free items. Every time I shop at ALDI, which is very regularly, I can get what I need at inexpensive prices.

WARNING: I do want to warn any shoppers who are new to ALDI that you will need a "case quarter" to rent your cart, which you will get back once you return your cart. You will also need to bring your own bags, which are definitely not new to us New Yorkers. You can purchase reusable or paper bags.

While ALDI does offer special buys and items like deodorant, cleaning wipes, candles, and even plants, it is often considered a no-frills retailer.

A new ALDI grocery store will open in WNY today, June 22, 2023:

Store Hours:
Monday through Sunday: 9 am to 8 pm

The ribbon cutting is at 8:30 am this morning.

Our grand opening is right around the corner and we’re stocking our shelves with aisle after aisle of products you love. We’ve got everything from fresh produce delivered daily to everyday essentials you can never have enough of.
