A strange encounter in a vehicle on I-787 left an Albany man behind bars facing traffic offenses and assault charges.

According to News 10, Yesterday around 6:00 p.m. Tymear Mallory was driving on I-787 in Albany when he became allegedly involved in a verbal argument with two women.

Officers with the State Police in Lanthan report that the 28-year old Albany resident was involved in an alleged verbal argument that quickly turned into an alleged physical altercation.

Two unidentified women reported that they were arguing with Mr. Mallory when he became enraged and allegedly began to choke one of the women and then proceeded to allegedly bite the other one on the arm.  When one of the women attempted to dial 911, Mr. Mallory allegedly took her cell phone from her to prevent her from calling the police for help.

Mr. Mallory allegedly fled the scene before the police arrived, but it didn’t take them long to locate him.  He was found in the Village of Menands where he was swiftly arrested and taken into custody.

Mr. Mallory was charged with Criminal Obstruction of Breathing; two counts of third-degree Assault; fourth-degree Criminal Mischief, and second-degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation.

The State Police in Latham processed him and gave him an appearance ticket which is scheduled for March 15.

The police have not indicated what caused the argument and I still don’t understand how the incident could have become so violent in a moving vehicle.  It just goes to show that you never know what another person is going through and what could cause them to snap.
