Acclaimed Black Panther Star Winston Duke to Speak in Buffalo
Winston Duke, who is a renowned actor, will be speaking in Buffalo as a part of UB's Distinguished Speaker series. Winston, a native of Trinidad and Tobago, graduated from Brighton High School in Rochester and attended the University at Buffalo. He is known for his role as M'Baku in Marvel's Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers Endgame. He was also in Jordan Peel's film Us and recently starred alongside Mark Wahlberg in the Netflix crime drama Spencer Confidential.
He has received numerous accolades including the Breakout Award at the 2018 Savannah Film Festival and was highlighted as one of the top ten actors in Hollywood Reporter’s Next Generation issue. Duke was also awarded with the Advanced Imaging Society’s Social Justice Lumiere Award for his work as the star and executive producer of “The Messy Truth VR Experience,” a virtual reality (VR) short-doc which provides viewers with a look at the timely themes of race, mercy and redemption through someone else’s eyes. ~ UB

Vaccination Policy: Must be fully vaccinated and show proof
Attendees will be required to wear a face mask and show proof that they are fully vaccinated. Individuals are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose in a two-dose series, or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine. A vaccination card, a photo of a vaccination card, an Excelsior Pass or a digital vaccine card are all acceptable. Attendees should be prepared to show photo ID as well. Children under 12 who are not vaccinated may still be admitted with a ticket, but must be masked at all times. ~ UB
