These 6 Regions Have the Lowest Numbers of Fully Vaccinated New Yorkers

According to vaccination data released by New York State, 13,677,062 residents have received the full vaccine dose. The majority of New Yorkers are vaccinated, according to Governor Kathy Hochul's daily COVID-19 report, with data for December 14, 2021,

Total vaccine doses administered over past 7 days - 974,879
Percent of New Yorkers ages 18 and older with at least one vaccine dose - 87.3%
Percent of New Yorkers ages 18 and older with completed vaccine series - 79.5%
Percent of New Yorkers ages 18 and older with at least one vaccine dose (CDC) - 93.6%
Percent of New Yorkers ages 18 and older with completed vaccine series (CDC) - 82.0%
Percent of all New Yorkers with at least one vaccine dose - 75.9%
Percent of all New Yorkers with completed vaccine series - 68.4%
Percent of all New Yorkers with at least one vaccine dose (CDC) - 81.2%
Percent of all New Yorkers with completed vaccine series (CDC) - 70.5%

Even though the statewide vaccination rate is pretty good, some regions are doing better than others.  These six regions have the lowest number of fully vaccinated people.  Do keep in mind that they may also have lower populations than other parts of the state.

6. Capital Region - 800,081 Fully Vaccinated Residents
7-day average percentage of positive test results - 6.65%

5. Finger Lakes Region - 762,564 Fully Vaccinated Residents
7-day average percentage of positive test results - 8.52%

4. Central Region - 574,549 Fully Vaccinated Residents
7-day average percentage of positive test results - 7.94%

3. Southern Tier Region - 385,497 Fully Vaccinated Residents
7-day average percentage of positive test results - 6.56%

2. Mohawk Valley Region - 289,263 Fully Vaccinated Residents
7-day average percentage of positive test results - 7.85%

1. North Country Region - 261,883 Fully Vaccinated Residents
7-day average percentage of positive test results - 7.67%

While the six regions above all have high 7-day average percentage of positive test results, the highest rate is currently in Western New York, which is 9.23%.
