2015 MTV Video Music Awards Nominees Include Nicki Minaj, Wiz Khalifa, Jennifer Hudson & More
Miley Cyrus is taking her twerking talents to the 2015 Video Music Awards stage once again, this time serving as a host. The nominees are being revealed today (July 21) on Apple Music’s new Beats 1 Charts show.
Hip-hop and R&B's biggest stars earn a majority of the nods this year. Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again" featuring Charlie Puth scores a Best Collaboration nomination. Ariana Grande's The Weeknd-assisted "Love Me Harder," Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" with Kendrick Lamar, Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk" collabo alongside Bruno Mars and Jessie J's "Bang Bang" featuring Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj make up the rest of the category. We have a feeling Wiz will walk home a winner in this category considering he's breaking records with the song.
As far as Best Hip-Hop Video goes, Fetty Wap's “Trap Queen," Nicki Minaj's “Anaconda," Kendrick Lamar's “Alright," Wiz Khalifa's “See You Again” and Big Sean's “I Don’t F--- With You” are nominated. The cinematic excellence of K. Dot's "Alright" visual paired with the poignant storyline surrounding police brutality will likely come out on top.
Then there's Best Video With a Social Message, which features Jennifer Hudson's “I Still Love You," Colbie Caillat's “Try," Big Sean's “One Man Could Change the World," Rihanna's “American Oxygen” and Wale's “The White Shoes.” Knowing Rihanna's Navy -- the name of her dedicated fan base -- they'll be rooting for her to take the win.
Check out the complete list of nominees below. The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards air live on Sun., Aug. 30 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV from the Microsoft Theater, formerly Nokia Theatre L.A. Live.
