16-Year-Old Niagara County Girl Dies in Sledding Accident
A 16-year-old girl lost her life today, February 6, 2021, in Niagara County. She was killed in a sledding accident in Lewiston, according to WGRZ. The deadly accident happened just after 10 am, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office. The teenage girl and a 3-year-old boy were involved in the accident, which occurred at the Town of Lewiston's Bond Lake at Clyde L. Burmaster Park. The tube they were riding on hit a tree. Both the girl and the toddler were transported to Oishei Children's Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The 3-year-old was treated for his injuries and released. According to WKBW, the Lewiston Police Department and the Niagara County Sheriff's Office are investigating the accident. The hill that the pair went down has been closed.

On February 6th, 2021 at 10:14 hours, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting an accident on the sledding hill at the Clyde L. Burmaster Park in the Town of Lewiston. Responding members of the Town of Lewiston Police Department and Niagara County Sheriff's Office located and confirmed two injured parties, a sixteen year old female and a three year old male. The two were apparently riding a sledding tube when they struck a tree at the bottom of the hill.
