It's almost time to get your green on and come downtown for one of the biggest celebrations of the year in Buffalo. On Saint Patrick’s Day weekend (March 16-17), the entire city will be feeling the luck of the Irish this year. To celebrate the rich Irish heritage of Buffalo, thousands will come out and celebrate with two parades, one on Delaware Avenue and another in the Old First Ward.

March 17, 2012 Most people associate St. Patrick's Day with partyin' and Green Beer....Ironically the Irish celebrate it as a Christian Holiday of sorts.
Everyone knows that St. Patrick’s Day is the one day out of the year when we’re all Irish. And, apparently that translates into wearing anything green and silly we can get our hands on and having as much to drink as we can carry at one time. But, there’s another strange tradition that has developed in celebration of this day. We can’t explain it. Are Irish people really that into unnaturally green food?
