If you love to cruise like I do, get ready for the “Soul Train” cruise set to sail in 2013.
As you know Tom Joyner does an annual cruise loaded with a host of entertainers, actors, and comedians. Although I have never attended a Tom Joyner cruise, people I know that have, say they love it and some have made a promise to attend every year!
With the passing of Don Cornelius there are and will be a number of tributes, specials and no telling what coming to the surface over the next few weeks or so. I had the opportunity to watch the television show as a child and can remember the “soul train gang” wearing the most outrageous clothes (and sometimes costumes), shoes, props, hair styles, dances and just the fun and excitement that the television show always seemed to transmit to the viewing audience.
The 2nd annual WBLK Old Soul Dance party is ON!! Dress up in your favorite 60’s/70’s garb and come take the “hippest trip in America”! The Old Soul Dance Party will be held at the Adam’s Mark Hotel on Saturday October 22nd from 7pm-1am and is sure to be a groovin’ good time.
Set props and artifacts from the legendary tv show, ‘Soul Train’ have been donated to the Smithsonian to be displayed in the museum’s music and popular culture exhibitions, opening to the public in 2015.
