Oprah Announces She Has A Half Sister

Oprah Winfrey announced on Monday that she has a half sister that up until recently she never knew existed.

Winfrey introduced her half sister Patricia to her audience on Monday. Oprah found out about her sister back in October and spent the Thanksgiving holiday with her.

Winfrey's mother gave birth to Patricia and put her up for adoption when Oprah was was just nine and living with her father in Nashville, Tenn.

Patricia reportedly new of her relation with Oprah but kept it secret in order to avoid the media frenzy.
