Multi-Platinum recording artist Ne-Yo did a good deed this Independence Day weekend by holding a free concert for troops, at a Ft. Hamilton  Army base in Brooklyn, NY (July 2).

Before jumping on stage to perform hit tunes such as 'Miss Independent' and 'So Sick', Ne-Yo met with Army families and attended a press conference, saying “It’s something that we were trying to put together for a little while. Just a way for me to show my appreciation for what it is that the troops do. I’m out here supporting the people who support me, and my free way of life. I’m happy to be here.”

Before leaving, he left the troops overseas with a final message “Just to keep your heads up, and know that people back here at home are missing you everyday and praying for you everyday…hurry up and come on back.”
