First of all, let me say I admire Macklemore for what he has done as an Independent artist from Seattle. As you can see below, I was happy when he won his first Grammy.

But when I found out that he won 3/4 award in the rap category, I was like Whaaaa?? Best Rap Performance – “Thrift Shop” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Featuring Wanz Best Rap/Sung Collaboration – “Holy Grail” by Jay Z (Jay Z dedicated the “Gold Sippie Cup” to his baby Blue Ivy) Best Rap Song – “Thrift Shop” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Best Rap Album – The Heist by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis This is a screenshot of Macklemore’s text to Kendrick after he won Best Rap Album of the Year! And this morning he called into NYC Radio to further express his feelings on the Grammys. Listen below. Truth revealed, most of the people on the Grammy committee don’t know anything about the rap nominees. So they voted for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis because of their cross-over radio hits “Ceiling Can’t Hold Us” and “Thrift Shop”. But I’m sure they know K Dot’s name after this performance with Imagine Dragons!!

So I asked the Queen City what she thought about the Grammy’s and here is what my listeners said.

She says the Grammys will “Always pick a White artist over a black artist”. But to be fair, Darius Rucker aka Hootie & the Blowfish, won for Best Country Song, and I’m sure there were plenty of white artist they could of chose instead.

This lady doesn’t think Macklemore deserves the award for Rapper of the year. I suggest that his song “Same Love” brought him international adoration.
