A massive dust storm enveloped the city of Phoenix, AZ yesterday (July 5).

The storm appeared to be at least, 100 miles wide. According to National Weather Service meteorologist Paul Iniguez, the dust wall reached a height of 8,000 to 10,000 feet, or nearly 2 miles, he said.

The Arizona Republic reports that approx. 9,400 people are without power.
