G.O.O.D. Music Artist Big Sean takes it back to the hometown to shoot the music video for his latest single "Guap". As a fellow Native Detroiter, I was getting irritated with Sean for Mis-representing the "D" but he gains back his cool point with this one.

when you see me in the Street".

 

Now to a person whose never been outside Buffalo, NY, you might think 'What Up Doe' is just a new phrase made popular by Young Jeezy.

But this is actually a way of life! You see "What Up Doe" is a term of endearment for people living in Detroit, MI. It's how we greet our friends and family members. Its also a substitute for "Anyways". For example, your friend is going on and on about what they did last night, but you just want to know what's up for tonight. Simply say, hey that's cool, but for real "What up doe"?

So needles to say I was excited to hear that Big Sean put this phrase in this song, then shut down downtown Detroit to film this:
