The meteorologists at NEWS 4 (WIVB-TV) are tracking tropical storm Zeta, which will sweep northeastward across the eastern US later in the week.  Though the heaviest of the rain will pass well south of our region, it will bring some to the area, less north, more toward the southern areas of WNY near the Pennsylvania border.  By Friday, the storm will drag in colder air resulting in a rain-snow mix by Friday morning especially across the hills.  Some sunshine appears by later Friday afternoon. Minor slushy accumulation is possible in the hills well southeast of Buffalo, . These areas may find coatings, to even upwards of 1-2″ Friday morning depending on the track of the storm.

Following that system, Western New York gets a significant shot of cold air possibly dropping readings into the 20s around Buffalo and teens inland early Saturday morning. Sunshine Halloween Saturday will bring temperatures back to near 50, for an overall pleasant day and not a bad Halloween night. Sunshine Sunday will give way to  showers Sunday afternoon, with a gusty breeze. Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday, so set the clocks back one hour when heading to bed Saturday night.

THURSDAY: Rain Develops for the afternoon, Lighter North, Heavier South, High: 50, Some wet snow possible in the hills overnight.

FRIDAY: Mixed Morning Rain/Snow Showers, better chance of flakes on the Hills, minor slushy accumulation possible in the hills early morning, Sunshine during the afternoon, High: 39.

SATURDAY (HALLOWEEN)Sunshine, Chilly morning, pleasant afternoon, High: 50, Turning Breezy late.

SUNDAY: Sun with increasing clouds later in the day bringing some rain showers, Windy, High: 51.
