Western New Yorkers Will Drive Across Town For These Restaurants
Western New York is a divided area. The region is split into two different areas. The Northtowns and The Southtowns.
Most times, people from these areas won't travel to the other part of town. If you grew up in the Southtowns, a trip to the Boulevard Mall or to Niagara Falls seemed like it would take forever to get there.
On the flip side, if you grew up in the Northtowns and wanted to go skiing at Kissing Bridge or Holiday Valley it seemed like you would have to pack for days to make that track to ski county.
In reality, most places are about 20 minutes to half an hour from each other in Western New York, but people like to stay where they are unless of course there is an amazing reason to cross that line.
One reason that forces a lot of people out of their comfort zone is good food. The best part of living in Western New York is that are so many wonderful dining choices that no matter what you are in the mood for, there is a restaurant that makes a delicious version of it.
The pull of some of these restaurants is so strong that people will cross that border and head to the "other" side of town. They are happy to pack up the kids, gas up the car, and make that trek to the other side of Western New York for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
