The Official Trash Talk Video of the Buffalo Sabres
This video should be the official trash talk video of the Buffalo Sabres because it is absolutely amazing and you have to see it.
You can feel it in the air: Buffalo is getting Sabres fever. With the Buffalo Bills' season over and the cold of winter embracing all of Western New York, all of us default to the one thing we can: hockey. Or, at least, it was until the team went into a giant playoff drought. Those days look to be coming to an end though. The team is finally getting good and is right in the thick of the playoff race.
They are young and a lot of fun to watch. Even when they lose it's usually a good time. A big difference between this team and past teams is how the players seem to genuinely care about and like each other. Now, maybe that's not fair. Maybe previous teams that played poorly cared for and liked each other, too. It was something a lot of fans didn't believe though as the team often didn't stick up for each other on the ice. For example,e what happened last night at the end of the Sabres 3-1 win over Florida would have NEVER happened with the drought teams. Check it out:
They just seem to have each other's back and it's refreshing to see.
The other part that's refreshing to see is their silliness. They are young and have a lot of fun off the ice, but not in ways that make news headlines and get them in trouble. They are silly boys, basically.
One of the best things they all do is have amazing songs when each of them scores a goal. The best, in my opinion, is Jeff Skinner's goal song. Last year he chose Miley Cyrus' "Party in the USA" which was hilarious and amazing. This year he topped that in every way bu choosing Whitney Houston's "I Want To Dance With Somebody." It's an iconic song that Sabres fans instantly latched on to.
It's also how one fan created maybe the best trash talk video ever.
The Official Trash Talk Video of the Buffalo Sabres
OK, this isn't the actual, official trash talk video because no NHL team, or professional sports team, has that. If they WERE to have one, though, this should be it.
