Don't Panic!  On this day in 1986:  The movie "Out Of Africa" won the Academy Award for best picture.  Steven Spielberg's "The Color Purple" was nominated for eleven Oscars but was completely shutout and won none!

Sean "Diddy" Combs now owns an Academy Award!!!  "Diddy's" documentary "Undefeated" won an Oscar for Documentary Feature.  "Undefeated beat out "Pina", "Paradise Lost Three: Purgatory", "If A Tree Falls: A Story Of The Earth Liberation Front", and "Hell and Back Again".

From the nice to have money file.  Congrats to actor-comedian Eddie Murphy.  There’s word that Murphy bought a 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.  He was seen getting out of his luxury ride over the weekend in L.A.

There’s word that superstar and comic Eddie Murphy is in early talks to host the 84th Annual Academy Awards next February.  Oscar producer Brett Ratner is reportedly going to pitch members of the Academy on Murphy as the next emcee.
