TOWN RUNDOWN: Rooted in the Park Is Back at MLK Park!
Go Gettas, we are back at Martin Luther King Jr. Park, and if you’re looking for something to do on a Saturday morning that allows you to shop local, grab some fresh food and support the community, this one is for you!

Masten’s Rooted in the Park Farmers Market is back for another season, happening Saturdays from 9 AM to 1 PM through September 26 at MLK Jr. Park.
And you know I love anything that gives us an opportunity to support the people doing the work right here in our own neighborhoods.
Rooted in the Park is more than just a farmers market. It’s an opportunity to bring people together around fresh food, small businesses, community resources and connection. Because sometimes supporting your community really is as simple as deciding where you’re going to spend your Saturday morning and your dollars.
This Saturday, you’ll have two ways to shop Truly Rooted Community Market. You can meet them at the John E. Brent Gardens inside MLK Jr. Park from 9 AM to 1 PM, or stop by their market at 2201 Fillmore Avenue from 10 AM to 6 PM.

At the park, you can shop local and connect with businesses and organizations including Second Chapter Bookstore, Honeiibee’s, World of Shaw, Truly Rooted Community Market, Brick Buffalo Academy, Community Access Services and the NFTA.
And let me say this: we often talk about wanting more resources, businesses and opportunities in our neighborhoods. Supporting the people who are already creating those things matters.
When we shop with local businesses, we help keep those businesses going. When we show up for community events, we create opportunities to meet our neighbors and learn about resources we may not have known existed.
That is what makes something like Rooted in the Park worth adding to the Town Rundown.

Grab your shopping bag, bring the family, call your friends and make a morning out of it. Get some fresh produce, discover a new local business and spend a little time enjoying one of Buffalo’s historic parks.
The market also accepts EBT and SNAP, making fresh food more accessible to families throughout the community.
This is your reminder to get out and support what’s growing right here at home.
That’s your Town Rundown!
