
Paula Patton Could Play Sparkle in Film Remake
There’s word that actress Paula Patton has been offered a role in the remake of “Sparkle.” The offer came from Salim and Mara Brok Akil-the same team behind her most recent film “Jumping The Broom.”
According to euroweb.com, Patton revealed the news during a chat with Indie Wire at the American
Black Film Festival/ABFF. She likes working with the couple, which has allowed her to take her career to the next level.
Patton wouldn’t say if she will be playing the title character Sparkle.
The 1976 film version starred Irene Cara, Dwan Smith and Lonette McKee. It was about a girl group torn apart by drug use , internal conflicts and the pursuit of fame.
