Parents Vote To Boycott Buffalo Schools
While I sat at last nights meeting at the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts, I was pleasantly surprised that so many people had turned out for the meeting to discuss some of the problems and issues in the Buffalo Public Schools. After over about three hours of presentations, discussions, questions, and solutions; the parents voted to boycott Buffalo Public Schools on Monday, May 16, 2011. The parents and activist will hold a day of resistance in front of City Hall on that date. There are also a number of churches that have agreed to open up their doors for students to come and do their school work. In the end, when it is all said and done; the foundation of getting a good education starts at home!
