31 People Were Arrested In Niagara County This Week

Police in Niagara County spent the past week arresting people accused of crimes. Niagara County is made up of quite a few cities, towns, and villages, including the City of Lockport, the City of North Tonawanda, the City of Niagara Falls, the Town of Lewiston, the Town of Lockport, the Town of Wheatfield, and the Village of Youngstown. Last week, 38 people were arrested in Niagara County.

If you live in Niagara County and plan to party this Memorial Weekend, make sure you have a designated driver. The Niagara County Sheriff's Office will participate in a high-visibility campaign during the holiday weekend. There will be an increase in patrols to help crack down on impaired driving. The goal is to decrease accidents caused by impaired driving. Niagara County's enforcement campaign kicks off today. May 23, 2025, and will wrap up on Monday, May 26. The Sheriff's Office issued a statement regarding the increased patrols,

"Sheriff Filicetti and the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office urge all drivers to make safe, responsible choices. If you plan to drink or use any impairing substances, plan ahead — designate a sober driver, use public transportation, call a taxi, or arrange for a ride-sharing service."

Last month, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office cracked down on aggressive driving. The department issued over 600 tickets and made more than 40 arrests, including charges for driving while intoxicated and reckless driving.
