On the night of Monday, April 5, 2021, a New York man killed the mother of his child, her two daughters and himself. The Brownsville Brooklyn man only left one survivor of the domestic violence incident, a 9-year-old girl, who is his daughter. According to PIX 11 the child's mother, a 45-year old woman, her teen daughter and her 20-year-old daughter were also killed. The woman's two daughters were half-sisters of the 9-year-old survivor. The 46-year-old man shot and killed himself in a walkway near the apartment building where the murders took place. Police found two guns - one on the body of the man and one near his body. Officials are continuing to investigate the motive that may have lead to the tragic violence. Police have not released the identities of the victims or the perpetrator.

It's so sad that the mother and her two daughters had their lives cut short because of the man. There was another violent incident in Queens last year. In that situation, thankfully, the police were there with the woman at the house when the man returned with his gun. He came into the house firing and injured the two officers. The woman was able to run into another room and avoided being shot. The man was shot and killed by the officers, who were able to return fire, even though they had been injured.

If you or someone you know is involved in a relationship with an abuser or living in a situation with domestic violence, National Domestic Violence hotline at 800-799-SAFE.
