Work is underway on a new Taco Bell Drive-Thru location in the town of Cheektowaga at 1685 Walden Ave. in front of the existing Aldi supermarket.  This is the second new Taco Bell to break ground recently in Western New York, joining the North Tonawanda location that is also currently under construction in front of a Wal-Mart on Niagara Falls Boulevard. The North Tonawanda location will also house a KFC.

Taco Bell and KFC are owned by parent company Yum! Brands,  A Fortune 500 company based in Louisville, Kentucky, that has over 53,000 restaurants in more than 155 countries and territories.  They also operate Pizza Hut and The Habit Burger Grill locations across the US.

Taco Bell will always hold a special place in my heart.  Not necessarily because I love the food.  I think the food is ok, and always better after a night out.  But, Taco Bell will always be special to me as it was my very first job as a teenager.  And let me tell you, things were quite a bit different back then.  If you were to order a Steak or Chicken soft taco, the meat was actually prepared on a grill right there in the restaurant.  The ground beef for the tacos was actually cooked up and seasoned fresh as well. I've seen the behind-the-scenes process today, and it's just not the same.

Oh, and pro-tip, don't ever stick your hand into a deep fryer to catch a taco salad shell that you dropped back in.  It stings more than just a little.
