The Buffalo Bills are performing at a top-notch level in the NFL on both sides of the ball. Even with some significant injuries to players this season, the offense and defense are rolling on all cylinders, which should be considered good. However, not everyone who reports to work every day at One Bills Drive in Orchard Park is happy about what's happening on the field.

One player has been disgruntled enough to ask to be traded or released, and it seems that Bills' management has heard his complaints and is letting him go.

The Bills Have Released Safety Mike Edwards

The NFL Networks Tom Pelissero was the first to report on his X feed that the Bills are releasing the two-time Super Bowl Champion Safety Mike Edwards.

Edwards started his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2019, where he won his first Super Bowl. He signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2023, where he won his second championship ring.

He signed as a free agent with the Bills this past off-season, but he has not seen much playing time through the first nine weeks of the season.

According to NBC Sports, Edwards played only 20 plays this year for the Bills, with only seven of those plays coming on defense. In comparison, he played over 55% of the defensive plays as a Chief.

Unhappy with his playing time, Edwards asked the team to trade or cut him earlier this year. Team officials, who had been seeking to find a trade partner, couldn't find one, so it looks as if the team has followed through with his request and let him go back into free agency.

This move now leaves the Bills with four safeties remaining on the roster: Damar Hamlin, Cole Bishop, Kareem Jackson, and Lewis Cine.
