Five Things We All Can Do To Make Buffalo Better
If there is one thing that we can pretty much all agree on is that things in Western New York are changing. For as much as we reminisce about it, this is not the Buffalo of old, and if someone came to town after being away a long time, they will definitely be coming back to a different city.
From new construction and development that has happened all over the region in the last couple of decades to all of the changes in the business and real estate market, what was once considered a quiet town for many has turned into a booming place to be. One of the ways that you can see that is how Buffalo's housing market has been. For at least the last three years, Buffalo has been the single hottest housing market in the nation. 2026 saw things slow down for Buffalo's housing boom, with it slipping to the second-hottest housing market in America.
Now this, of course, does not mean that things are perfect. Buffalo remains one of the poorest cities in the nation, and incomes have not seen any sort of significant increase in recent years. When you couple that with the problems that our local governments are dealing with after years of financial mismanagement, Buffalo, while on the upswing, has a long way to go for it to be fair and equitable for everyone.
Buffalo Is On The Up, But Needs You To Get Better
For as many good things that are happening in Buffalo, there are just as many things that need improvement. In the City of Good Neighbors, the only way that is going to happen is with the help of everyday people like you or me.
So, in order for Buffalo to get it together in 2026 and beyond, there are a few things that we need to do to make it happen.

So What Are We Going To Do About It?
It may not seem like it, but Buffalo and Western New York are at a turning point. We can continue to do what we have been doing and then be surprised that we get the same results, or we can fully engage and make sure that we make our city the best it can be.
