Kanye West Gifted Kim Kardashian Part-Ownership of His Yeezy Brand for Mother’s Day
People can say what they want about Kanye West and his polarizing Internet antics, but at the end of the day, it's hard to deny that he's a loving family man. Speaking on model Ashley Graham's Pretty Big Deal podcast yesterday (Oct. 2), Yeezy's wife Kim Kardashian-West revealed one particularly special instance of Yeezy's generosity. The gifted creator actually give her partial ownership of his Yeezy brand along with a $1 million-dollar check.
The story begins with one fashion brand offering to pay Kim K $1 million for her to upload a social media post promoting their clothing. Without naming the brand, Kim says they "typically knock off Yeezy."
With the lucrative deal on the table and the apparent Yeezy-biting in mind, Kim says she ran the idea past her husband. “He was like, ‘No, babe, I really don’t want you to do that,’” Kim remembers. "It's understandable, but that's a lot of money."
Naturally, Kim K rejected the deal, but a week later, on Mother's Day, she got something even better than the unnamed brand had offered. The gift, which also included flowers, came from 'Ye.
"So I open the envelope and it’s a million-dollar check and it was a note saying, 'Thank you for always supporting me and not posting [the clothes from the other brand],'" Kim recalls. "And then, in the rest of the envelope, it was a contract to be an owner of Yeezy and my percentage [of Yeezy]."
Needless to say, that's a pretty awesome gift. Check out the podcast for yourself below. The Mother's Day gift portion comes in at around the 28-minute mark.
