Even superheroes can’t take giant leaps over buildings (or football players) without getting a few bumps and bruises along the way.

Everyone in the sports world is still talking and making memes about Bills star quarterback Josh Allen’s gravity-defying hurdle over the Chiefs safety Justin Reid. The “it’s a bird, it’s a plane” moment set up a run that landed Dawson Knox in the endzone and gave the Bills a 24-20 win over Kansas City.

Even though Josh Allen made that leap look easy, he didn’t come through it completely unscathed. Guesting on Kyle Brandt’s Basement podcast earlier this week, Josh let the world know just how nerve-wracking that leap was for him.

“It’s very similar to Ricky Bobby,” Josh said, comparing it to a scene from the movie “Talladega Nights: The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby,” “ya know, I’m in the air, ‘This is not good.’”

“I got a giant bruise on my butt.”

We didn’t realize as fans that Josh got hurt after his magnificent play, and it’s in a place that, well, you can expect.

Allen told the podcaster, “As I jumped over him, I got a huge bruise on my butt. I landed right on my butt and slid for a little bit.”

Ouch!

He added, “There’s a camera angle that, I don’t know if anybody’s got it yet, but I’m making straight eye contact with this camera angle. I kinda wanna see my own face, because I think, like, I didn’t make any emotion at all. I just literally got up and went back to the huddle.”

Well, great news for Josh Allen and the rest of everyone who was dying to see it for themselves - the video with the missing camera angle has been found!

Yup, no emotion what-so-ever. So stoic. So amazing. You’d never know the guy just landed a big ol' bruise on his behind.

But some ice on that, champ!
