After a wild win over Tampa Bay last night at the KeyBank Center, the Buffalo Sabres are now sitting atop the Atlantic Division all by themselves. The Sabres remain undefeated since the NHL returned from the Olympic Break and are riding a 7-game winning streak.
Buffalo Sabres Outlast Tampa Bay At Home
The Sabres currently have 84 points in 64 games, while the Tampa Bay Lightning have 82 points in 62 games. The Sabres are also in 2nd place in the Eastern Conference. They are currently two points behind the Carolina Hurricanes for 1st place overall in the East. The Hurricanes have 86 points in 63 games.
Buffalo Sabres Looking To End Longest Playoff Drought In NHL History
It looks like this year is the year the Buffalo Sabres will return to the NHL playoffs. The Sabres are on track to make the playoffs this season for the 1st time since the 2010-11 season. The Sabres are currently tied with the New York Jets for the longest playoff drought in North American Pro sports. It looks like the Jets will take that title alone, as the Sabres have a 99.1% chance of making the playoffs this year.
