Western New York Winter Weather Update
This morning will start off as a very slippery one across Western New York, but there is some good news.
Feel Good Mornings With Dave Fields Mon-Fri 6am-10am
It looks like all the ice and freezing rain that impacted Western New York overnight is already moving out of the area which should make clearing the ice and snow much easier this morning.
Looking at the radar, it seems that much of the heavier rain and snow have already moved well North and East of Western New York and for the morning commute we will be dealing with a slight drizzle.
That doesn't mean that everything will be good to go. Many sideroads are still ice covered and very slippery this morning. Also, the ice and snow have accumulated on powerlines and tree branches and that has left several thousand people without power this morning.
At the time of this writing, a winter weather advisory still remains in place for Northern Erie, Genesee, Wyoming, and Livingston counties until 6 pm. That could be lifted as the weather front moves out of the region.
You can see the latest radar information from the National Weather Service HERE.
Some snow flurries are expected tonight before giving away to mostly cloudy skies tomorrow morning. It will remain cold with a high of only 37 for today and 24 for Friday.
