OPINION: This Is Western New York’s Best Pizza

Today is National Pizza Day, and just like wings here in Western New York, you can ask a thousand people their favorite spot, and you could get a thousand different answers.

I love that here in Buffalo, you can find all the different styles of pizza, too. From Buffalo style with the charred cup pepperoni, to Chicago Deep Dish, to Detroit Style, to my favorite, the New York style slice of pizza.

While I grew up in Buffalo and do like a think chewy pizza with cupped and charred pepperoni, I have grown to love the big thin New York Style slices of pizza. Which is why my favorite spot for the best pizza is shocking for my fellow Western New Yorkers.

I will state that this is my opinion, and I know it is an opinion that will bring plenty of thoughts and complaints from people around the area, but I am here to say the best pizza in the 716 can be found at Wegmans!

Yes, in my opinion, Wegmans serves up the best pizza in New York State. There are a couple of reasons why, too.

First, Wegmans offers the true New York-style thin-crust pizza, and while it is thin, there is still plenty of chewy goodness in their pizza

Second, they use just the right amount of sauce. Some pizzerias slather on the sauce, and all you can taste is tomato. At Wegmans, it is the perfect amount and the perfect sweetness to it.
