$50,000 Powerball Winner In New York State

The first Powerball drawing of October was a lucky one for Powerball players in New York State. The New York State Lottery announced that there was one "Big Money" winning ticket sold in New York from last night's Powerball drawing.

There was one 3rd-place winning Powerball ticket sold in New York State from Wednesday's drawing. That ticket matched four out of five numbers and also had the Powerball number to win the $50,000 prize.

There were also 24 4th-place winning tickets sold in New York. These tickets matched four out of five numbers but missed the Powerball number. 21 of those tickets won $100, while the other 3 had the Powerplay, which tripled the winning prize amount to $300.

71 5th-place winning Powerball tickets were also sold in New York State from last night's drawing. Those tickets matched three out of five numbers and also had the Powerball number. 60 of those tickets won $100, with the other 11 tickets had the Powerplay and won $300 each.

There was no grand prize winner from last night's Powerball drawing. There was one 2nd-place $1 million dollar winning ticket sold in Georgia from last night's drawing. Since no one claimed the grand prize, the jackpot for the next Powerball drawing on Saturday Night is $195 million dollars.
