Flood Watch Issued For Western New York
The warm weather is here in Western New York and that is going to cause some flooding issues in the area.
The warm weather will bring some rain and along with the melting snow, there is a real possibility of flooding issues in the 716.
The National Weather Service in Buffalo has already issued a Flood Watch for Northern Erie, Chautauqua, and Southern Erie counties.
Several waves of rainfall, today and again Thursday night, will produce a total of 0.50" to 0.75" of rain over several days. While a deeper snowpack will absorb some of this rain initially, snowmelt and runoff will increase by Thursday and Thursday night, bringing elevated flows to area creeks and rivers.

Now is the time you want to make sure your sump pump is working. Also if you live near any creeks or rivers you are going to want to make sure that you are aware of the water levels.
The temperatures for the rest of the week will be in the 40s and possibly 50s which allow for much of the snow from last week's winter storm to melt.
