WHEN IS THE NFL CUTDOWN DEADLINE?
This year the NFL has only one cutdown day. In the past, there were multiple deadlines for teams to get from 90 players down to 53 before the start of the regular season. This year's cutdown day is Tuesday, August 29th at 4 pm Eastern Standard Time.

HOW MANY PLAYERS ARE ON AN NFL TEAM?
This preseason, NFL teams are allowed to keep 90 players active players on their roster until the cutdown deadline day. After the cutdown deadline, teams can have 53 active players on the roster along with 16 practice squad players.
WHAT ARE THE PRACTICE SQUAD RULES?
According to SBnation.com, Each team is allowed to keep 16 players on their practice squad. Here is a breakdown of the player limits.
Out of the 16 players on the practice squad, a team can have:
Any number of players who have not accrued at least nine games in an NFL season.
Up to four players who have accrued no more than two NFL seasons.
Up to six players with no limitations on experience.
WHAT FORMER 1ST ROUND PICK COULD BE CUT BY THE BUFFALO BILLS?
Today's game against the Bears will be the final chance that Shaw Lawson will have to impress the Buffalo Bills coaches. Lawson was a 1st round pick by the Bills in 2016. He played with the Bills until 2019 and then played for Miami, Houston, and the Jets before re-joining the Bills last season. He is currently on the Bubble with the Buffalo Bills.
The Bills will take on the Bears today and then the coaching staff along with the personal staff will spend the next 72 hours getting the roster trimmed down to 53 players.
