Sheas is ready for another big season.  They unveiled the lineup of musicals for the 2024-2025 season and there are some big ones.

Every year Shea's Performing Arts Center reveals their upcoming season at an event at the theater.  The lineup is now set and if you've ever wanted to get a season ticket to see some incredible theater, this would be a perfect year.  There are some exciting new shows and some very popular ones back again.

Let's start at the beginning.

September 24-29th - Some Like It Hot

You may have seen the movie starring Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon, and Marilyn Monroe.  It's a crime drama about two male musicians who dress as women to avoid gangsters after watching them kill someone.

November 19-24th - & Juliet

What if Juliet didn't die at the end of Shakespear's story?  This musical focuses on that "what if." This one is one of the newest musicals on the list.  It started in 2019 and has won multiple awards since then.

December 18th 2024 - January 5 2025 - The Lion King

This is one of the most familiar musicals around these days.  It tells the story of Simba, the lion who is forced to live on his own for years after a tragedy but then has to come back to save his homeland and claim his rightful spot as King of the Pride lands.

March 4-9 2025 - The Wiz

The Wiz is a re-telling of the popular story "The Wizard of Oz" only this one is told in the context of contemporary African-American culture.  There have been multiple productions of The Wiz over the years.  One of the most popular was a movie that was filmed in 1977 starring Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, and more.

March 25 - 30 2025 - Shucked

One the hottest new musicals on Broadway.  Shucked made it's debut in 2023.  It received 9 nominations for the 76th Tony Awards and features music from Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally.

April 8 - 13th 2025 - The Neil Diamond Musical - A Beautiful Noise

Another brand new musical.  This one began in 2022 and focuses on legendary pop star Neil Diamond as he talks with his therapist about the lyrics to his songs.  It grossed more than $1 million at the box office in the week leading up to its Broadway premiere.

June 24-29th Back To The Future The Musical

The musical adaptation of the 1985 film Back To The Future, it's the story of Marty McFly and Doc as they travel back and forth through time to fix his family.

October 15-27th 2025 - Hamilton

This one is a special subscriber add-on but it's one that you're not going to want to miss.  Hamilton tells the story of one of America's founding fathers, Alexander Hamilton.  It follows him as he helps to create our banking system and as he fights for our country's independence.  It's probably the most popular modern musical in the country right now.
