
Multiple Severe Weather Alerts For Western New York
It is going to be a wild weekend for the weather in Western New York. Two massive arctic fronts are set to sweep across Western New York, and they will bring cold, snow, and blustery conditions over the weekend.
Extreme Cold Warning For Parts Of Western New York
Much of New York State will see very cold weather and dangerous wind chills this weekend across Western New York. An Extreme Cold Warning is in place for Wyoming, Livingston, Ontario, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany, and Southern Erie counties. The warning is in place from 1 am on Saturday and goes until 10 am on Sunday.
Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero expected. The coldest wind chills are expected to be late tonight through Saturday.
Winter Weather Advisory In Place For All Of Western New York
Snow and winds will pick up today and last through the weekend across Western New York. The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for all of Western New York. We could see several inches of widespread snow today across the region, with potential lake effect snow for parts of Western New York this weekend.
An Arctic front will bring widespread snow showers to the region this morning, which will then taper off to more localized lake effect snow tonight through Saturday.
Heavy Freezing Spray Warning For Areas Along Lake Ontario
Due to the gusty winds, a heavy freezing spray warning is in place from 7 pm tonight until 10 am on Sunday for areas south of Lake Ontario. Waves could get as high as 14 feet this weekend.
