Josh Allen Named AFC Offensive Player Of The Week
You had to know this was coming. Another Buffalo Bill has been given national honors after their play on the field this week.
It has been a great couple of weeks for the Buffalo Bills. Week 1 it was Gregory Rousseau being named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week. Week 2 James Cook received the same honor on the other side of the ball when he was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week. This week for week 3 it was the Bills captain and QB1 Josh Allen taking the honor for AFC Offensive Player of the Week. It's the 13th time that Allen has earned this honor.
The guy had an incredible game and really only played about 3/4 of it. He went 23/30 on pass attempts, throwing for 263 yards, and four touchdowns. He also ran for 44 yards on the ground.
His 142.1 passer rating was the highest among all AFC passers.
This year has certainly gone a different way than many people thought it might. The story is certainly centered around the fact that the Bills began cleaning house in March to free up some salary cap issues, then starting bringing in the pieces that they thought might make this team a competitor again. Losing players like Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis on the offensive side of the ball and Jordan Poyer, Micah Hyde, and Tre'Davious White had a lot of people thinking that the Bills would be taking a step back this season.
So far, it hasn't hurt them one bit. They're 3-0 and have the biggest scoring deficit in the league. That being said, the Bills haven't had the toughest schedule yet. They've beaten the Arizona Cardinals, the Miami Dolphins, and the Jacksonville Jaguars. The three teams they beat have a combined record of 2-7.
We will see if the Bills are all they are chalked up to be on Sunday as they take on a tough Baltimore Ravens team on Sunday Night Football this week.
