Western New York Native Earns Important Position With US Navy

As the United States of America is getting ready to celebrate its 250th anniversary, there are people all over the nation who are preparing to honor the amazing accomplishments we've achieved during our American democratic experiment.

Barker, NY Native Christopher Poss Named Senior Enlisted Leader of the US Navy's Naval Medical Readiness Logistics Command

People all over Barker, NY, a Western New York village that sits about an hour north of Buffalo in Niagara County, are beaming with excitement after a native son has been elevated to a major position with the US Navy.

According to the US Navy Office of Community Outreach, Chief Petty Officer Christopher Poss has been named the Senior Enlisted Leader of the Naval Medical Readiness Logistics Command in Virginia.

CPO Poss, a graduate of Barker High School in 2005, has served in the US Navy for nearly 20 years and was inspired to serve our nation by his grandfather, who was a Marine during World War II.

The Naval Medical Readiness Logistics Command (NMRLC), which is located in Williamsburg, VA, is an important key to ensuring our armed forces are ready in case of a medical emergency. The command, and its associated detachments in Maryland and Germany, ensure the American military has the medical support and supplies it needs anywhere in the world.
