What happens if you get caught with a Fake ID in New York State?

Criminal possession of a fake ID is a violation of PL 170.25, criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree. This is a class D felony, punishable by up to 7 years in state prison.

This is not the first time that police are looking to do a crackdown on fake IDs being used to buy alcohol at concerts across New York State. They have been doing this for years.
