
Violence Closes Multiple Buffalo Summer Hot Spots
Summertime has arrived, and folks all over Western New York and Southern Ontario have been flocking to do all the things we normally can't do in the wintertime. As we all learn very quickly, the warm weather this time of year only lasts for a few weeks, so that means we have a lot to do and not a whole lot of time to do it in.
So, with all of the great events, places, and things to do in the region, going to be near the water is high on the list for a lot of people.
Being that we have direct access to a resource that most people in America don't, one of the largest bodies of fresh water in the world, getting to the waterfront or a beach is high on the list for folks. However, it's not all fun in the sun, as there are people out there who are looking to ruin all the fun that the rest of us want to have.
Shooting and Fights Close Waterfront Attractions In Buffalo
There are several great places all along Western New York and Southern Ontario where you can hang out near the water. From the dozens of beaches we have to Niagara Falls and more, you can find something to fill all your water needs.
But that didn't stop groups of folks from trying to mess it up for everyone, as two separate incidents in Western New York over the last couple of days have caused many people to shake their heads and to worry if it's safe to enjoy the water in Buffalo.

Woodlawn Beach in Hamburg is well known for its great bar and all the fun that happens on the water; however, several hundred teenagers decided that the beach was a good place for a brawl after a huge fight ended with the beach being shut down by New York State Police. According to the Buffalo News, a guesstimated 1,500 people had a huge, unruly party on the beach. The fights ended with at least one person being arrested.
If that wasn't bad enough, two people were shot in the late afternoon at Canalside in downtown Buffalo.
The News reported that two men, a 19-year-old and a 23-year-old, were shot and went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
After these incidents, people are now worried about their safety this summer.
Government officials across the region are vowing to keep people safe, but will it be enough?
