In nearly any urban area, the need for police agencies to possess advanced tactical capabilities is viewed by some as a necessity. With many agencies having their own specialized units like SRT (Special Response Teams), HRT (Hostage Rescue Team), SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics Team) and more, it's not all that unusual to see officers wearing all military style gear while sporting assault rifles moving on in on a target, person, or building.

However, from time to time, these actions by SWAT teams are caught on tape, and sometimes we catch these officers engaging in conduct that some might consider questionable.

With all of the eyes that are now on police and how they do their jobs, officers need to be on their best behavior more than ever before. However, knowing that there are cameras everywhere, that doesn't seem to deter some members of law enforcement from engaging in what a reasonable person might consider the excessive use of force.

SWAT Team Tosses Kids' Bike In Buffalo, New York Raid

In early April 2025, the Buffalo Police Department executed a raid with its SWAT Team on a house in the city. The entire incident of the officers pulling up and entering the house was captured on a doorbell video camera. In the video, you can see officers roll up in an armored vehicle and approach the front door of the residence during the 7 am house with their guns drawn.

As the officers use a handheld battering ram to smash in the front door, on the left side of the screen, you see one officer committing one of the most egregious forms of police brutality that I have ever seen.

The officer picks up and tosses a children's bike across the porch, potentially breaking the kid's toy. People all over who have seen this viral video are asking what the poor bike did to deserve such poor treatment from the people we pay to protect us?

Police undoubtedly have a tough job, but can we all agree that all bikes matter?
