I know a lot of folks do the slow-roll every week in Buffalo which is really a unique way to see all of Buffalo. So to all my bikers in Buffalo here is another event that gives riders a chance to explore Buffalo's roadways.

GObike Buffalo announced Wednesday its sixth annual SkyRide the event will take place on Sunday, May 19th at 9 am, starting in LaSalle Park taking riders on Buffalo's legacy highways: the Skyway, Scajaquada Expressway, and Kensington Expressway.

Riders get to experience amazing views of downtown Buffalo and the waterfront from Olmsted's parks and the heights of the Skyway and various   Buffalo's roadways.

Below are the details and the routes that will be taken.

* Kids allowed: We’re excited to allow riders age 10 and up on all routes with an accompanying adult. Kids under 10 will also be allowed if harnessed by an adult via child seat or trailer. We’ll be working with community schools in Buffalo Public School systems, recycle-a-bicycle participants and their families to increase opportunities to ride in our signature event.

* Three routes: Routes this year include a 10-mile Skyway-Only Loop, the new 11-mile Kensington/Scajaquada (Route 33 and 198) Loop and 18-mile Full Loop (Skyway/Kensington/Scajaquada [Route 5, 33 and 198]).

* Pop-up art installations: GObike Buffalo will be working with local artists to include music, visuals and temporary art installations along the route to activate the spaces and tell the story of our parkway revival movement throughout the decades.
