Get Cast In A Hallmark Mystery Movie Made In Upstate New York
New York continues to be a hotbed for movie and television production this spring and summer.
Currently, we have HBO's "The Gilded Age" shooting night scenes in downtown Troy, actor Owen Wilson has been seen all over the Capital Region shooting scenes and just hanging out while filling his new movie "Paint", and HBO's "The White House Plumbers" starting Woodie Harrelson has been casting extras and looking for vehicles for their upcoming shoot this summer.
Now the Hallmark Channel is jumping into the mix of projects being shot in New York. According to casting calls by HBG Casting they are looking for actors and actresses for "Redemption In Cherry Springs," a Hallmark Mystery of the Week film. Shooting dates haven't been confirmed yet, but more than likely shot this summer in Beacon, Newburgh, Woodstock, Middletown, and High Falls, NY according to Backstage.com.
My Dad loves Hallmark Movies...especially holiday movies...so, I'm going to encourage him to try out for a part in this upcoming movie. I'm sure it would be a blast. Plus, you can get paid as much as $178 a day.
They are currently casting background extras for all ages and gender. If you'd like to have your dog in a Hallmark movie they might be able to help you out with that too. Yes, they are looking for extras with dogs too. They are also looking for extras to be Crime Scene Investigators and Uniformed Police officers so if you fit those roles you might have a chance.
For most of these extra and background roles you'll need a headshot and short cover letter. You can find out more information and apply at either Backstage or HBG Casting.
