Eminem Slams NRA on Extended Version of ‘Nowhere Fast’ Feat. Kehlani [LISTEN]
Eminem released an extended version of his new single “Nowhere Fast” featuring Kehlani. The song is Em’s third collaborative song from Revival following “Walk on Water” featuring Beyonce and “River” with Ed Sheeran.
On the new version, Eminem adds a verse referencing mass school shootings and slamming the NRA for turning their backs on the families and children who have suffered through these tragedies.
"Sandy Hook, Stoneman Douglas, another lone wolf gunman / Sometimes I don't know what this world has come to, it's blowin' up / And this whole country is goin' nuts / And the NRA is in our way / They're responsible for this whole production / They hold the strings to control the puppets," he raps, adding, "And they threaten to take away donor bucks / So they know the government won't do nothin' / And no one's budging / Gun owners clutchin' their loaded weapons / They love their guns more than our children."
Eminem and Kehlani performed the extended version of "Nowhere Fast" last week at the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards. Before their politically-charged performance, the pair was introduced by fellow Detroit rhymer Big Sean and Parkland shooting survivor Alex Moscou who urged for more gun control.
The song adds another notch in Eminem's achievements this year. Recently, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) honored Slim Shady for earning over 100 million RIAA song awards in his illustrious career.
