Demi Lovato Impersonates Fetty Wap on ‘Tonight Show’
Singer Demi Lovato was the guest on last night's episode of The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. During her appearance she participated in a rousing game of the show's beloved segment The Wheel of Musical Impressions where she was tasked with doing an impersonation of Fetty Wap.
If you aren't familiar with the premise, Fallon challenges guests with doing impressions of singers and rappers, but with a twist. The impression has to be done using a randomly picked song that has absolutely nothing to do with the artist, and hilarity ensues. This time was no different.
Lovato was first tasked with singing the old classic "Bingo Was His Name-O" as pop icon Cher. Next, it was Fallon's turn as he had to sing the theme to Mr. Roger's Neighborhood in the voice of Louis Armstrong.
Then it was time to turn up the stakes. In the next round Lovato had to match Fetty Wap and the nursery rhyme "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." The combo sounds as weird in principle as it sounded live, but the singer pulled it off with flying colors. Check out the rest of the antics above, which included a rendition of "Spongebob Squarepants" in the voice of Christina Aguilera. Of course, The Roots are on the beats.
The real Fetty Wap is surely enjoying all the shout outs. The New Jersey artist is coming off two nominations for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for “Trap Queen” at this year's Grammy Awards.
