If you are a sports fan in the 716, you know there is no shortage of opportunities to cheer on a team that plays your favorite sport. This is especially if you're a football fan.

From High School and College Football to the Pro Leagues, fans have several options for watching a team on the gridiron. Now, it's time to add another team to the fray: a professional women's football team is currently holding open tryouts in Buffalo.

Founded in 2024 by Julius, Tahzsa, and Jeronica Davis in Buffalo, the Buffalo Yeti's are a professional women's tackle football team currently recruiting players.

The Yeti's, who will play in the Women’s Football Alliance, are looking to provide an opportunity for women in the Buffalo area to play one of America's most popular sports. This is something that hasn't happened in Western New York since the early 1970s when the Buffalo All-Stars fielded an all-women's tackle football team for three years.
